2011 Basketball Season Updates
The Office of School Wellness Programs wanted to congratulate those teams that advanced to the CHAMPS Middle School Basketball League Playoffs. Click here for the

The games for the 3rd round are scheduled on Saturday, June 4th.
The annual spring basketball league gives students the opportunity to learn fundamental skills of the game, practice teamwork, and apply the skills that they've learned throughout the season. Schools interested in joining must have participated in a previous year’s basketball developmental program or league.
General Basketball Information
This year’s league will have approximately 150 boys and girls teams throughout NYC.
The games will take place on five Saturdays during the months of April and May. Locations will be spread out among 10 different schools in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens. Specific dates and locations are located in the links below.
The season will end with teams playing in a citywide round robin playoff. Students will compete in up to 5 rounds including a semi-final and championship game.
The Girls semi-final games will take place on June 7, and the Boys semi-final games on June 8.
The Boys and Girls Championships games are scheduled for June 10, to be held at Saint Francis College in Brooklyn.
School Staff Information

Free student MetroCards and school buses will be provided depending on location of schools and playing site.

A minimum enrollment of 10 students is necessary to hold weekly practices.

The teacher-coaches selected for this league are required to attend all five games.
Coaches are expected to participate in one professional development session.
