Regional Special Education Technical Assistance Support Center (RSE TASC)

New York State Education/VESID (Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities) has established ten Regional Special Education Technical Assistance Support Centers (RSE-TASC) throughout New York State to act as a coordinated statewide network of special education technical assistance centers and school improvement resources.

RSE-TASC is specifically structured with resources that will provide expertise to school districts, networks, and individual schools to improve core instructional programs that research has shown to be effective for students with disabilities and to provide improved coordination of regional resources and accountability to VESID for results.

NYC RSE-TASC includes both regional technical assistance specialists and special education school improvement specialists (SESIS).  While the regional specialists provide training and technical assistance to groups of school districts and networks across New York City, the SESIS work closely with those schools identified by VESID and the NYCDOE for ongoing school improvement in core instructional areas for students with disabilities.  Regional Specialists are available in the areas of Transition Services, Special Education, Bilingual Services, PBIS/Behavior, and Nonpublic Schools.
