CSA Bonus Criteria and
2007–08 ES/K-8/MS Recipients


DOE announces CSA bonuses for elementary, K-8 and middle school Principals and Assistant Principals for 2007–08.

CSA BONUS PLAN FOR PRINCIPALS AND ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS 2007–2008

Beginning with the 2007-08 school year, the top 20% of principals in elementary, K-8, middle and high schools, as measured by their schools’ Progress Report scores, will be eligible for increased performance pay, according to the following schedule:

Notes:

  • Assistant principals will receive 50% of the principal award.
  • In order to be eligible for the award, the school must have received a proficient rating on the Quality Review and no adverse ratings on the Principal Performance Review on compliance issues. 
  • Principals and assistant principals must have served during the full academic year for which the award is being given. 
  • Awardees also must complete a project designed to disseminate best practices across the system. 
  • For District 75 and K-2 schools, the current performance pay metrics will be used.
  • Beginning with the 08 – 09 awards, principals will receive an additional $2,500 for a second consecutive year of award and $7,500 for a third consecutive year of award or the third year of an award in any five year period.

CSA BONUS PLAN FOR PRINCIPALS AND AP’s  WHOSE SCHOOLS PARTICIPATED IN THE SCHOOL-WIDE PERFORMANCE BONUS PROGRAM 2007–08 

Principals and Assistant Principals whose schools are participating in the School-wide Performance Bonus Program (SWPBP)  for teachers and other UFT members and  who do not qualify for a bonus under the CSA Bonus Plan will receive bonuses if their school qualifies for a bonus under the SWPBP.  The bonus will be $7,000 for principals and $3,500 for assistant princpals if the school meets or exceeds its progress report target, and $3,500 for principals and $1,750 for assistant principals if the school meets at least 75% (but not more than 100%) of its target or if the school has  maintained an “A”  Progress Report grade for at least the second consecutive year.
