School Goals

2016-2017

A.    Rigorous Instruction: We will continue to focus our growth on using non-fiction sources to create evidence-based debates and persuasive writing pieces.

B.    Supportive Environment (School/class culture, whereby students feel safe, supported and challenged by teachers and peers.
- Throughout the school day, whole and small group instruction will include scaffolds offering strategies and customized materials specific to the needs of every student.

C. Collaborative Teachers (Teachers committed to success of the school)
- Professional development will focus on increasing teachers' ability to motivate, inspire and support students tracking their own progress towards establishing and revising their own goal.

D.  Effective School Leadership (Principals lead by example - professional growth social and emotional support drives student achievement)
- In alignment with the school goals, individual teacher goals will be established and monitored through the reflective teacher observation process.

E.    Strong Family and Community ties:  (Everyone works toward shared goal-improving student outcomes.
- We will offer an increased variety of opportunities for parents to be engaged in our learning community by supporting parents in Common Core Curriculum based activities.
