Our Mission Statement

PS 112 is committed to establishing and maintaining high standards of excellence for all students. A positive educational environment is maintained where parents, teachers, and administrators work cooperatively to develop each child academically and socially. We are dedicated to the belief that all children can achieve high levels of excellence. It is through a rigorous child centered curriculum, that we believe our students develop into independent, skilled learners who will be prepared for all future endeavors.

Special Programs

Research through technology is facilitated by our wireless laptop computers and all of our classrooms are equipped with Promethean Boards.  Inquiry-based science is the approach used in our science lab and our instructional program is supported by a strong integration of the arts into curriculum.

Extracurricular Activities

P.S. 112 has a variety of extracurricular activities available for students.  Lower and upper grade students have the opportunity to join Science or Art Club.  Students of grades 4 and 5 can choose to be a part of the Color Guard, Band, Knitting or Technology Club.  Tennis and Chorus are available for students in grades 3 through 5 and Violin is available for students in grades 2, 4 and 5.  All 4th and 5th grade students participate in Ballroom Dance provided by The American Ballroom Theatre Company.

P.S. 112 also provides extracurricular activities that include the whole family such as Family Fun Night, Family Dances, Family Arts Night and Movie Nights.

Our Community

Over the years, P.S. 112 has developed partnerships with various organizations such as The Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, The Brooklyn District Attorney's office, Gateway National Park, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Museum of Natural History, The American Ballroom Theatre Company, Young Dancers and Common Cents.
