PS 173 The Fresh Meadow School will provide a place where:

Our Community

Partnerships with Queens College, St. John's University and Junior Achievement and America Reads enable college education students to work with our youngsters. Environmental studies are supported by a collaboration with Alley Pond Environmental Center.

Special Academic Programs

Classroom teachers implement a balanced literacy program with emphasis on the workshop model. Special area teachers (Arts, Science, Technology) collaborate with and support classroom teachers and curriculum.  Math coach supports instruction and provides enrichment to math team members. Academic intervention in reading is provided by support staff specialists via small group "pull-out" and "push-in" models. Additional support in math and reading is provided by Saturday Academy Program.
