P.224Q is dedicated to achieving high standards for all students through an interdisciplinary team approach that addresses their needs in cognitive, psycho/social and physical areas.    

We are committed to assessing, instructing and shaping behaviors through high quality instruction and practices so that our students can achieve goals and build successful relationships.

Our Vision

We envision a school community that works collaboratively to create learning environments that are nurturing, supportive and accepting while still challenging students to reach their highest potential.   
Our learning environment must be one in which we regard each other positively and communicate feelings of respect and appreciation. 
Ideally our diverse population of students will be able to apply their knowledge in a way that permits them to be independent lifelong learners in a multicultural society.

Special Programs

Scholastic Reading, Every Day Math, Let's Write, the arts, school-wide themes, computers and school to home literacy initiative enforces strong academic programs and the Standards. We have inclusion classes integrated programs in PE, art, science. The STAR Behavior Program reinforces social skills development for students.

Our Community

P.224Q maintains three inclusion classes and meets regularly with special and general education staff. We participate in residency programs with cultural arts institutions; schedule intervisitations with local community agencies; collaborate on activities with the mainstream; and plan an elaborate Career Day with parents and community workers.
