Welcome to the Academy of Print Media at the High School of Graphic Communication Arts. At the academy you will find a home away from home. You are taking the first step in not only attaining your high school diploma, but a career as well. Our faculty consists of all seasoned professionals in their subject area. They are dedicated educators, and many of them have spent years in the business world learning AND perfecting their craft. They have chosen to teach and share their knowledge and help prepare you for the future. From your first day of school, the academy is a place where you will begin forging relationships with a group of teachers and students who will be with you throughout your high school career. They will share with you the wonders involved in learning print preparation, offset and digital printing, bindery, computer design, animation, production, estimating and all the other areas of perhaps the most influential profession in history. Print Media is a field that is changing on an almost daily basis. The academy is a place where you will be taught the latest technologies and learn to innovate on your own. The key to your success is your participation. We (The Faculty) will help you develop a creative voice and encourage you to motivate positive changes in your life. We will empower you with strategies to discover and use your abilities to become successful. We will guide you in a setting where you will feel safe taking creative risks with the knowledge you will have attained at the academy. You will be actively involved in planning the growth of the Academy of Print Media. As you learn and grow, many of you will take on additional responsibilities. Some will become mentors to new students, some will become tutors and others will be involved in leadership roles. You will help ensure the success of other students as well as your own. We the faculty, administrator, and staff, make the commitment to work and share with you our knowledge and experience. YOU MUST MAKE THE COMMITMENT TO LEARN AND GROW.

Introduction to print - Basic history, basic press work.
Printing foundations- pre-press-computers, bindery.
Photo-Striping- Plate making, Intro to Computer programs
Elementary Offset - Press work with one or two colors.
Advanced Stripping- Advanced Computers
Advanced Offset- Presswork 4 or more colors
Work Study (JUNIOR YEAR).
