Ms. Mahoney, Fifth Grade Teacher, PS 206

My name is Pauly. I had great teachers that made learning fun. I am not so smart, but now, thanks to Ms. Mahoney, my fifth grade teacher in P.S.206, I am happy. When I don't understand something, she explains it better. Sometimes on tests I fail but she still gave us a second chance and take the test over. Ms. Mahoney is really different from the other teachers. She sometimes shares her feelings with us and doesn't keep it all inside. That makes me feel really happy that she trusts us. She sometimes lets us play a game in a subject like math. She makes so many things that I think are boring fun. She does sometimes yell at me but I know she is yelling at me for my own good. For example, if I am learning a math lesson and I am there talking to my friend, she will say to me to be quiet. Sometimes I think that her yelling at me is mean but now I know that she yells at me so I will pay attention and get a good mark. When I feel sad she understands how I feel and makes me feel comfortable with myself and says that it is okay and it can happen to other people too. When I leave this year I am sure going to miss her because she is the best teacher I ever had in my life.
