I don't know if Mr. Carty is still teaching at M.S. 172 or if he is still 
teaching at all, but I felt a strong obligation to thank him. I had Mr. Carty for Global Studies in 2002 and I will never forget that amazing year. Mr. Carty was more like a friend than a teacher; he had the most wonderful personality that really brought the subject to life. Mr. Carty was my teacher, our senior advisor, and the coach of the Girl's Basketball Team- and he was there for every one of us. The hardest part of graduating from M.S. 172 was leaving teachers like Mr. Carty behind.
