Professional Development Offerings
Below is a list of the current professional development offerings of the Office of Early Childhood Education. As new courses are developed and scheduled they will be added to this list. 2009 ESI-R Developmental Screening Training Sessions

Early Childhood Borough Office
as soon as possible if you are a UPK Teacher who has not yet been trained on how to administer the ESI-R Developmental Screening. Thinking Beyond the ESI-R Developmental Screening Instrument11th December, 2009
Dr. Samuel Meisels, President of the Erikson Institute in Chicago and one of the authors of the ESI-R screen, will lead an interactive session on understanding and moving beyond the screening process. Participants will have the opportunity to pose questions related to their experience in conducting the ESI-R screen. Additionally, a panel presentation on Best Practices in Early Childhood will sharpen pedagogical skills so that participants can improve the quality of their interactions with children.
This free session will be held on Friday, December 11, 2009 in Alfred Lerner Hall at Columbia University from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.
