High School Graduation Rate Rises to All-Time High: 63 Percent
New York City’s four-year high school graduation rate rose to an
all-time high
of 63 percent in 2009, according to the
State Education Department
. Students of all ethnicities continued to make progress, with graduation rates increasing for white, Asian, black, and Hispanic students. For the first time, more than half of the City’s Hispanic students - 56 percent, including August graduates - graduated in four years.

Gifted & Talented Score Reports Have Been Mailed
Score reports for elementary school students who took Gifted and Talented examinations have been mailed to families. Electronic access to score reports (for those who applied online), and applications for eligible students, will be available beginning Monday morning, April 19.
Deadline Extended: Special Elections for Citywide Councils
Parents can now apply to serve on the Citywide Council on Special Education or the new Citywide Council on English Language Learners.
