Internship Program

OAG is looking for top-level students for its internship program. Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing manual and computerized work-papers using Microsoft Word and Excel, analyzing financial statements and supporting expenditure documentation, and assisting in the preparation of audit reports;
  • Scheduling conferences with Department officials, analyzing audit reports for content and relevancy to the Department’s operations, distributing draft and final reports, preparing audit files for closure, and updating the unit’s permanent files;
  • Developing materials for meeting agendas, and preparing and distributing appropriate correspondence;
  • Learning audit software tools/techniques; and,
  • Xeroxing, filing and organizing work-papers.

Students will work for experience and/or college credits (if available). Proper business attire is expected. Students will be supervised and evaluated throughout the entire period of the internship. If performance is above average, after obtaining a baccalaureate degree, students could be recommended and/or apply for a full time position (if one is available).


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Enrollment in a program leading toward an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning;
  • At least Sophomore status;
  • Excellent writing, speaking and analytical skills;
  • Willingness to commit to at least 6 months in the program.

All majors may apply; some positions require Business-related or
Computer Science students. Applicants must be pre-screened by college placement staff prior to acceptance to the internship program and must present a letter of recommendation from a college advisor.
