iMovie night at The Soho Apple store

  iMOVIE Project

A group of Unity High School students, along with a teacher participated in the School Night at the Apple Store in Soho. They premiered the movie to the patrons in the screening room at the Apple Store. The title of the movie was Smoking, Just Leave It Alone. It was a documentary on the views of young people about smoking. They completed a storyboard in which they planned the movie and the questions that they would ask students. Later, they went out to interview students from Unity and the Door. After the filming was done, the students learned how to edit the film. Two students then wrote wonderful original rap music and lyrics for the movie. Theme song was sung an aspiring young Unity artist.

Our world premier movie was an exhilarating experience. Everyone from Unity was proud to have their work featured. Some family members showed up for support. Ms. Tamayo said a few words of encouragement to the students. Customers in the stopped and watched the move. Everyone from Unity left the store with a feeling that they had accomplished something very special. Unity students showed the public the creativity of young people.
