“Knowledge And Power Preparatory Academy IV Positive Reinforcement System – KAPPA IV Loot”
As a positive reinforcement, students will be given “paychecks” every week, by homeroom teachers, in the amount of 100 KAPPA IV dollars. Students will be able to spend their KAPPA IV loot at the school store. They will be able to “buy” small objects such as pencils, pens, and other little trinkets. The school store will be open once a month. Auctions will be scheduled throughout the school year.
In the event a student does not follow rules, amounts will be deducted for each infraction as follows:
· Unprepared (no pencil, no notebook, etc) - $10
· No homework - $20
· Incomplete homework - $10
· Unexcused lateness to class - $20
· Disruptive Behavior - $20 for each infraction after one warning
· No agenda - $10
· No Parent Signature in Agenda - $5
· Bonus - $10, $20, $30 or $40 (Teacher’s discretion)
· Chewing gum- $10
In addition to the KAPPA IV Loot Program, students will also be involved in friendly competition between homeroom classes. Classes will earn a star for each of the following:
· Excellent conduct in all classes as a group (daily)
· 100% Homework in all classes as a group (daily)
· Classes may also receive random stars during classroom visits.
A student monitor for each homeroom class will carry a section sheet to each class. Teachers will write comments on the back of the section sheet as needed. Homeroom teachers will monitor student behavior by the notes written on the section sheet and will determine the amount of check for each student in their House.
Section sheets will also be used to determine how many stars each House earned. The homeroom teacher will determine the number of stars and report that number to Dean Purvis, who is in charge of maintaining and updating the bulletin board, displaying results for each House.
