BUTTERFLY SISTERS

The Butterfly Sisters is a female mentoring group.  They set important developmental goals and build competence and character to reach those goals.  In this group, girls are able to discuss problems that they are having but they don't feel comfortable talking about.  Students find confidence and strength of character to cope with the many issues facing them.



A+ COMPUTER REPAIR

This program is offered to adults in the community.  It is as a result of the collaboration between I.S 292 and Perscholas.  Paricipants receive their A+ certification upon completion of the course are placed into jobs where they utilize the skills learned. 

VOLUNTEERS FOR AFRICA

Our teachers and students engage in fundraising activities and the proceeds are used to sponsor tuition fees for students and build schools.  Members of our faculty also visit west Africa annually to forge stronger partnerships with the faculty and students of the schools that we sponsor. 

PHENOMENAL YOUNG WOMEN

Phenomenal Young Women is a group of young women who demonstrate strong leadership qualities.  This group has fundraisers to help a variety of causes in the school and community.  Additionally, the group organizes educational sessions that inform our students on issues such as breast cancer awareness and global warming. 

STUDENT COUNCIL

The Student Council provides a democratic forum where students can address school-related topics.  It maintains communication among students, faculty, and administration and plans, conducts, and oversees social functions and community matters that are of concern to students.  The council is made up of elected members from each grade.
