Fourth Annual Family Literacy Night
Thursday, March 1, 2012
6:30PM
We will discuss how we are implementing the
new Common Core Learning Standards to meet
the academic needs of our students. In addition,
we will also have acclaimed author Jon Scieszka,
who wrote The True Story Of The Three Little Pigs
and Spaceheadz, as well as other children's books
attending the event to discuss how literature
impacts children all over the world.
Family Literacy Night is structured to support
proficient readers. We hope you can attend this
wonderful event in order to help us collaboratively
create a community of lifelong readers.
Tuesday February 14th, 2012 the PTA will be sponsoring a BAKE SALE FUNDRAISER. We are asking for a voluntary $5.00 donation to offset the cost of purchasing baked goods. Anyone who wishes to donate cake, please ensure that it is store bought, as we cannot accept home baked goods due to food allergy precautions.
The childen will come to the gym with their teacher immediately following their lunch period. If you would like to volunteer at the bake sale , please call the PTA ( 718) 331-5300 and let us know. We would love to have your help. We look forward to another successful fundraiser, as the money we reaise goes back to our school in many great ways. We appreciate your continued support.
Roses For Sale
Also on Tuesday February 14th, 2012 , the PTA will be selling individually wrapped long stem red roses at our bake sale. The price of each rose is $3.00. If you would like your child to purchase a rose for a loved one, friend, or special teacher they may do so during the bake sale. We will have a special table for the roses. We will have a limited supply of 100 roses per lunch period.
Please remember, on this day we will also be selling goodies, so if you would like your child to participate, please send them with enough money.
Friday February 17th, will be our next Spirit Day Fundraiser at P.S 200 for a great cause. It will be PAJAMA DAY at our school in support of St. Judes Research Hospital for children. We are asking ALL students and staff to wear their pajamas to school on this day and bring a donation of $1.00 for this great cause. 100% of the money collected on this day will go directly to this cause. We thought this would be a great way for our children to help other children. Please keep in mind that any pajamas worn to school must be appropriate, and respectful. No revealing pajamas please.
St. Jude's Mission
The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of our founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family's ability to pay.
