Library & Media Services

Fort Hamilton High School’s Library Media Center is dedicated to support lifelong learning and access to high quality information by providing a community of learning and literacy which promotes high academic achievement, independent discovery and school wide collaboration.  We strive to empower students by teaching information literacy, critical thinking, writing and subject area skills.  Students use the library to study, to expand their research, and benefit from a rich source of reading materials which they may explore for enjoyment and independent investigation.

The Library Media Center is located in Room 214.  Fourteen computers with Internet access are available in the Computer Research Facility.  The LMC has a quiet room for student and faculty use.

Checking out/in books

The Library Media Center uses the Destiny Automation System.  Your school photo ID is your library card.  Books may be borrowed for two weeks and renewed three times.  Reference books circulate for three days.  Students may put a hold on a book that is not available and will be notified in class when it becomes available.
