8th Grade News & Info

Dear Parents,

Welcome to our Senior Year at IS 281! We have planned several exciting events for our 8th graders in the hopes that this year will be truly one to remember.

Senior dues are $95.00 for the year, payable in installments. Payments are made during AM Homeroom in Room 130 and were due by December 7, 2007. Please Click Here for the Form and more information on Senior Dues.

1. Friday, March 14th - 
    Twin Day & 8th Grade Student vs. Faculty  
    Volleyball Game

    
Come to school dressed exactly like someone else in your
    grade. The Student vs. Faculty Volleyball game will take

2. Monday, March 31st - Robotics Expo
    Come join us in our school gym at 6:30 pm for our 1st 
    EVER Robotics Expo and Awards Ceremony!
It 
    promises to be a great evening, where many of our 
    students will be displaying some of their AMAZING 
    Inventions!

More information to follow.  Reminder, seniors with 5 or more outstanding demerits cannot attend the prom.


Reminder:
8th Graders that fail one (1) core subect for the final report card CANNOT GRADUATE. 


We have arranged some exciting social events for our seniors throughout the rest of the year. Participation in these events will be based on appropriate behavior and good academic standing. Tickets for the Specialized High Schools tests or auditions are available from the Guidance Department. Check the high school directory for details concerning audition or portfolio preparation.

Ms. Huliaris and Ms. Burke are our faculty advisors for our Senior Yearbook. They have photographed several events including picture day, our rooftop photo, the pumpkin decorating contest and the cap and gown measurement on film. Many of these photos will appear in our senior yearbook.

Ms. Caputo is the faculty advisor for our Senior Video. Her students have been filming our events to be included in our Senior Video.

Most important—please stress the importance of good grades and behavior. Promotion to High School depends on the passing of ALL major subjects.
