We are well into the first grade year. We are working on new first grade material. This is a picture of our class.
This is some of our work. We created family trees and wrote about them.We also have our new SMARTBOARD this year. We are using this to learn many new things! Here is an example of the SMARTBOARD being used in a math subtraction lesson. We have also been doing much writing. An example of our writing is “My Family Member” where the students wrote about a family member.
**********************************************************1-203We are having a great time learning in First Grade. We love to learn new things. We are learning about animals, families, teamwork, helping out and much more. We took a trip to the Green Meadows Farm. We saw sheep, chickens, bunnies and other animals. We also took a hayride. Here are some pictures from the farm. ****************************************************1-202
Green Meadows Farm
We went to the Green Meadows Farm. When we got there we all had a chance to ride on the ponies. We went around the circle. When the pony stopped, Mrs. Arrigo took our picture. After the pony ride we went to see sheep. We even fed them! The man gave us food and told us to keep our fingers together so the sheep would not bite them. Did you know that sheep do not have teeth on the top of their mouth? It really tickled when we were feeding them.
Next we saw boy and girl turkeys. The boy put his feathers out so that everyone could see them. Then we chased the Japanese Chickens in their cage. They were white and very soft!
After that we went for a hay ride. We sang a lot of songs when the tractor was going around the farm. We also saw the animals. We saw horses, pigs and goats too! When the ride was over we picked our own pumpkin.
The farm was a lot of fun. But we had to go back to school. We were all really tired after our day at the farm!
