Our Field Trip To Stop and Shop!

 Class 2-232

 As part of the second grade curriculum, class 2-232 studied nutrition and the importance of eating healthy. We took a field trip to our local Stop and Shop Supermarket and learned all about the different food groups. We even were able to sample healthy snacks including organic cereal, apples, and bread! Now, we know how to take care of ourselves and our bodies!

Class 2-206

Our motto is ‘Live Curious’ so you know that the second graders in class 2-206 have been working hard since the first day of school. In the first fifty days of school, we worked on many projects. We practiced our writing, editing and sequencing skills in our very first project that we called, ‘We Had a Lot on Our Plates This Summer.’ In it, we discussed what we did over the summer vacation. We wrote about our experiences and depicted them in 3D with a visual picnic setting. In October, we created individual Word Walls, while working with a partner. November has seen us go on our first trip to Stop and Shop.

2-227 learned about community helpers.  Then we took a trip to Stop & Shop to meet some of the community helpers.  We also tried some healthty foods such as, cheese, bread, fruits, and vegetables.  In addition the children learned how to distinguish between organic and non-organic foods.

Our class has been working hard on our writing skills.  We had fun at our publishing party for our narrative stories.
