Teacher : Mrs. Brown
Class : K-102
About Me: Mrs. Brown obtained her undergraduate degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from The State University At Old Westbury, and her graduate degree from Adelphi University. She directs and both teaches drama, dance, cooking, and Arts and Crafts in the P.S. 46 After-School Self Sustaining program. She enjoys dancing, traveling, swimming, going to the movies, the theater, and spending quality time with her family.
Mission For The Class: Our mission is to provide all students with the educational opportunities to learn to the best of their abilities. We utilize a child centered, hands-on, integrated approach to learning in order to ensure that our students will become productive, informed, literate, and responsible citizens, as well as life long learners. We foster independence in all these areas.
Homework:
Students: Each night the student will have reading, math, and spelling homework. The specific assignments will help to reinforce concepts introduced in the class on that given day. Parents: 1. Please assist your child in completing his/her homework assignments. 2. Please review your child’s folder daily. 3. If submitting a note or monies please return it in a sealed envelope with your child’s name and class. 4. Read a book to or with your child each night.
Birthday Policy: If your child is having a birthday, please send in a note letting me know when you’re sending treats or goodies.
Star Student:
Each month, we let the students vote for one boy and one girl for star student. Students need to wear their white P.S. 46 t-shirt to the assembly. We want to receive 100% participation.
Wish List: Always keep in mind if considering giving a book away; I would appreciate it if you could add it to our classroom library.
Booklist: The students in K-102 will have the opportunity to order books from Scholastic each month. Please complete the order form and submit by the due date requested
Recommended Reading:

Please feel free to contact me with any question or concern by sending a note in a sealed envelope. I will contact you a.s.a.p.
