Business Electives:
Students in the Business Ed-Op program should start with
BCT/ BMSW1 and follow with the electives of their choice.
All courses require BCT1/BMSW1 as a prerequisite.
Business/Computer/Technology, BCT1/BMSW1
This course introduces students to the world of business. Students will learn skills
needed for high school and
then business courses in college. They will also be introduce to keyboard typing
skills and how to produce appropriate business documents on
Microsoft Word.
Word and Excel, BMSW2/MSE
Students will continue with Microsoft Word software and learn how to use Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. They will create documents that will help them apply these skills in the workplace.
Web Design 1 & 2, BWD1/BWD2
Students learn how to create web pages using the Dream weaver software. Students will explore the many applications that web design offers for business.
Accounting and Finance, BA1/BF1
Students will learn personal and business finance and accounting for business. They will use Quickbooks Software and apply the theory to real business situations.
Entrepreneurship, BE1/BE2
Students will be introduced to the concepts that govern business ownership and management. Students will understand the components to developing a business as well as skills needed for presentation, interviewing and working in group. Skills learned in the introductory courses will be applied to the business concept.
Business and International Law, BL1/BL2
Students will explore how law aplies to the business world both domestically and internationally. Business ethics will be discussed and case studies will be examined.
