Gentlemen what is your interview attire saying about you?
Interview Attire for Gentlemen:
- Dark Suit, Long-sleeved Shirt (White or Light Blue),
- Conservative Tie, Dark Socks,
- Matching Belt & Shoes
- Neat, professional hairstyle
- Neatly trimmed nails
- No visible body piercing (nose rings, eyebrow rings, etc.)
- No earrings (if you normally wear one, take it out)
- Minimal cologne
Ladies what is your interview attire saying about you?
Interview Attire for Ladies:
- Dark Suit (Skirt to the Knee)
- Coordinated Blouse or Knit Shell
- Limited jewelry , Sheer Hose, Close-Toe
- Neat, professional hairstyle
- Manicured nails
- If you wear nail polish (not required), use clear or a conservative color
- One set of earrings only
- No visible body piercing (nose rings, eyebrow rings, etc.)
- Minimal perfume
Lasting Impression
While picking the right outfit for your interview, think about how you may be viewed by the interviewer on the other side of the table. Interview clothes can say a lot about you.
A good rule of thumb is don't wear anything that would be viewed as a distraction. Tight or form-fitting clothing, for example, is inappropriate. While these slim fits may be en vogue for both women AND men, they don't belong in the office.
