Our teachers, at P.S.117Q, have been selected to participate in a new and innovative program called Measures of Effective Teaching (MET). This is a national research project looking at the real work of real teachers in real classrooms. This project will be implemented over the next two school years (2009-2010 and 2010-2011) and will focus on a number of school districts around the country. It will involve teachers and their students in the following courses: Math and English Language Arts (ELA) in grades 4 through 8; Algebra I at the high school level; Biology (or its equivalent) at the high school level; and English in grade 9.
