Special Programs

I.S. 347 engages in a variety of special programs which include:

• Model U.N. Program
• Art program, L.E.A.P., with a visiting artist who works along with the art teacher.  The students created a special lunchroom table reflecting a theme chosen to represent obstacles in today’s society.  This table is on display in a local park near the school building.
• Urban Advantage Science Program where the teachers and students collaborate with outside facilitators
• Stay on Track Program in collaboration with the U.S. Military which teaches students to abstain from taking drugs and using alcohol
• Dance and Drama Program in collaboration with outside facilitators
• S.A.P.I.S. Counseling
• Comprehensive Advisory Program to teach students appropriate social skills and to discuss important issues such as bullying and obstacles which adolescents face daily.
