The following staff report: Assistant Principals and school-based intermediate supervisors not designated to work an increased work year. No Students / No Teachers - Professional Day/Staff Development Teachers and other designated staff report to school - 08/28/08
Classroom Teachers, Bilingual Teachers in School and Community Relations, Guidance Counselors, Attendance Teachers, Nurses, Therapists, Laboratory Specialists and Technicians, Educational Paraprofessionals (except for School Secretaries, Psychologists and Social Workers) report for a Professional Day - General staff orientation. School Secretaries, Psychologists and Social Workers report for a regular work day. Employees in titles not listed should consult the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Students will not be in attendance. - Professional Day/Staff Development - 08/29/08
Chancellor’s Conference Day for staff development (regular work day for School Secretaries, psychologists, and Social Workers). Students will not be in attendance. - Labor Day - 09/01/08

All Learning Support Organizations, Empowerment Schools Central Office, Empowerment All Learning Support Organizations, Empowerment Schools Central Office, Empowerment Schools Support Team Networks, Integrated Service Centers, and central headquarters offices of the Department of Education will be closed. Except for "prevailing wage rate employees" subject to Section 220 of the New York State Labor Law, absence of per annum, per diem, hourly non-competitive employees, and monthly salaried employees of the administrative staff and headquarters’ pedagogical personnel scheduled to work on this day shall be excused without loss of pay and without charge to annual leave.
